Problem adding comments?

16th April 2018

We love comments so it is disappointing to hear that some people have struggled to leave them.  The default setting for the blog was to require people to have a Google account.  We have now changed the settings so this is no longer required.  Despite this it seems the process is still quite clunky, especially if you don't have a google account.

This is a test page for making comments.  Please have a go, just enter something like "test" or "where on earth is Nordkapp".

Of course, if you can't successfully post we won't know just from looking at the blog!!  So, if you have our personal contact details please let us know.  We would be interested to hear if the problem related to posts from phones or not.

  3. It's weird, Jacqui can't now get comments published but has managed previously. I've posted on the Blogger help forum but if any IT gurus out there know what the problem is please let me know.

  5. I have been advised by Blogger that 3rd party cookies mustn't be blocked. How you ensure this is the case depends on your internet browser. If you do a Google search for "enable third party cookies" you can find out how to check this.
Unfortunately this hasn't solved the problem for Jacqui :(

  7. Jacqui now seems to have found a way!

    1) click on the "enter your comment" box
    2)Click on "comment as"
3)A list of options should now appear. Scroll down to name/url (or anonymous if you prefer) and highlight this choice. The click on "Done"
    4) You will be asked to edit your profile - enter a name of choice (ignore URL). Press continue
    5)Enter your comment
    6)Click on "Publish"
    7) Tick the "I am not a robot" box
8)Do the little puzzle and press verify. If you fail the first time, don't worry, it will give you another one
9)You then need to press "publish" again

    This should do the trick.
So, a nine stage process to post a comment. Really sorry about that but we really do enjoy comments and would love to hear from you all.

  10. How to learn how to comment is easy. You just need to read the whole topic and type on the comment area whatever opinion or ideas you have on your mind about what you read.
