Day 64 - To Lofoten!

2nd June 2018

This has been a long anticipated day!  The arrival at Lofoten on the ferry from Bodo provides one of the world's iconic vistas.  Fortunately our expectations were low given the wet, cold forecast.

It was a short, wet and windy 19 mile cycle to the ferry complicated by major road works.  After 3 hours on the ferry everyone surged to to the front of the boat to get a view of the approaching awesomeness which finally wheezed into view about 100 metres from the quayside.  I'm sure there were snow flakes in the rain.

Our campsite was a mere 200 metres from the quay and we were soon snugly installed.  So snugly that my photo of the "iconic view" is through Ivan's front windscreen...

By way of contrast, through the rear window we have a view of the Norwegian sea...

People have this on their "bucket list"

The weather forecast for the next few days is what is euphemistically described as "changeable".  Add in lots of wind and cycling is going to be interesting.
