Day 49 - Away from Oslo and it's lovely!
18th May 2018
Oslo kept us in it's clutches for a little while as Jacqui and I both battled to navigate our way out the city. At least, for me, it was easy to pull up and haul my bike onto the pavement everytime I wanted to check where on earth I was, you can't do that with Ivan. Anyway, we did it and quite abruptly found ourselves in the land of Greig, hills, waterfalls, meadows, flowers, pine trees, lakes and snow capped mountains.
It wasn't until this morning that we managed to find a campsite that was a) within reach b) open c) not flooded d) accepting touring vans e) still operational. Camping Slovika, on the shores of Randsfjord, will always have a place in our hearts.
The water level in all the lakes is apparently very high, which we assume is due to warm weather melting a lot of snow high up. We are pitched nicely high and dry. What a lovely place this is!
