Day 41 - To Aalborg keeping ahead of the storm

10th May 2018

For the past week the weather forecasts have consistently predicted storms for today.  I set of early to try to stay ahead of the bad weather which seemed to be coming in from the south west.  Fortunately the plan worked and it was a warm, dry ride mostly on small cycle paths. Towards the end of the ride I reached a pretty stretch of coast line where the North Sea cuts Jutland in half.

I suppose today's song should have been "Riders on the Storm", but I found that far too gloomy, "I can see clearly now" took it's place.

I actually had a few hills and also a head wind to make me earn the miles, I was pretty tatered by the time I got in.

Meanwhile, Jacqui had Ivan nestled in at Aalborg Family Camping.  It was buzzing!  Today is a big bank holiday in Denmark for Ascension Day.  Aalborg is Denmarks 4th largest city with a small, medieval quarter which Jacqui later  took a 5 mile stroll investigate, leaving me to have a nap (pathetic I know).

  1. Looks good there Martin. Glad you didn't need to sing riders in the storm - by the was I can see clearly now is my all time favourite song. Off to Norway tomorrow, the easy way by Ferry...
