Day 45 - Back in the Saddle, punctures, are we in the Caribbean?

After 2 very pleasant rest days I was looking forward to today's ride up Sweden's North West coast.  I've sailed this coastline a couple of times in the past and found it an idyllic area.  Things started slowly, picking my way through Gothenburg's cycle paths.  Things took a big turn for the worse as I came onto a cinder track beside the busy E6.

Mile after mile of tyre gashing horribleness, no escape route and the almost inevitable puncture, my third in the last three rides.  I normally average less than one a year.

Never mind, things rapidly improved on escaping the vicinity of the E6 and I headed towards islands, bridges, beautiful bays and hills.  Yes, believe it or not, I've missed those.  Even a "no cyclists" tunnel, not shown on the map didn't dampen spirits and the alternative route was lovely.

Our campsite is beside a fjord in the middle of nowhere, Camping Fossen.  It is such a peaceful spot and the perfect place for a swim after a hot ride.

OK the diving needs a bit of work.  The point is, we are in Northern Sweden and it is tropically hot, did we take a wrong turn somewhere?

Jackie, as always, carefully plotted a route to the campsite, but the satnav took her to a dead end lane.  She then added the lat and long coordinates of the site but the satnav then tried to take her into the sea!

So that is the story of our day, sorry the day had to end really.
