Day 54 - More Nordic Scenery and an Eviction Threat

23rd May 2018

We are on tenterhooks as I type!  We were struggling for a suitable campsite along our route but discovered what appeared to be a good spot using the "Park 4 Night" app.  This led us to the village of Meldal whose ski jump centre, it was suggested, offers a quiet night in the summer.  So here we are, not a bad spot although the ski jumps look like they have seen better days.

It has been the scene of some heroic jumps including a previous women's world record.  Google Meldal ski jump and there is a video of a chap performing a very good jump but landing on one ski.  It appears that this evening, of all evenings, is a meeting of the Meldal Ski Jump Committee.  We aren't really sure whether we are supposed to be here and occassional glances have been cast in our direction.  If this entry stops abruptly you'll know we have been moved on.

All this comes at the end of another excellent day heading towards Trondheim, which is now just 50 miles away.  The final 30 miles along the RV700 led us into a deep, verdant valley alongside a fast flowing river.

We've had our tea, we are nice and comfy, the sun is still shining and, oh, hang on...
