Day 61 - An OK sort of day

Sorry this post is a day late but our telephone signal last night wasn't up to blogging.

I have decided that I need to rein in the superlatives to avoid an overdose of breathtaking, stunning, awesome and so on.  So I will just say that the landscapes we saw today were pleasing.

It was an early start in time to catch the Nesna ferry.  On route we crossed the Helgeland Bridge, a good use of concrete and cables.

As you can see, the day started cold and rather gloomy, however, the sun started to break through by the time we reached Nesna and, within a couple of hours. we had a cloudless sky and warm sunshine.  Here are some of our "pleasing" views...

We had the choice of two parking spots.  We could have gone for the Hellaga Picnic Area...

Here we discovered we were on another of Norway's National Tourist Routes.  They had created a simple lay-by at a pretty, Fjordside spot and turned it into something quite magical with the addition of a few perfectly positioned concrete picnic tables, paths and steps.

However, for an overnight stop we preferred this simple camper stop (Stelleplatz)...

Perfectly flat parking with individual ptiches and picnic tables on grassy areas complete with roaming reindeer!

A little path led off, signposted Tortenkota 2km.  This led up onto a rocky hillside with pools of meltwater and tumbling streams and waterfalls.

Didn't have much time to explore so decided to return the following morning, suffice to say I can't hold back the gushing adjectives much longer!
