Day 65 - A wild day with cod

3rd June 2018

The average temperature for my ride today was 4 degrees.  The wind averaged about 29mph - near gale force 7.  It rained the whole time, usually torrentially.  Noah would have been out gathering in puffins, reindeer and so on.  The ride was only made possible by the support of Mrs B and Ivan.  Two very timely rest stops to change into dry kit, warm up and have a hot coffee and cookie kept me ticking over nicel  In the end I really enjoyed the ride.

The mist let through just enough of the scenery to imagine how things would look in good weather, probably the most beautiful place I have ever visited.  We definitely need to come back.

The ride was punctuated by a fishy smell.  This emanated from wooden racks of drying (!) salted cod, a big industry in this part of the world.

Slightly improved forecast tomorrow, except still windy and will be coming from the north east i.e. a big headwind.  So, time for another rest day.  Tea is currently cooking, we are having cod!

  1. All sounds a bit fishy :) I hope you weren't too battered by the wind :)
