Day 51 - Rest day in Lillehammer

20th May 2018

We cycled the short distance into Lillehammer only to discover cordoned off streets and a buzzy atmosphere.  It transpired that the Tour of Norway bike race was not only coming through town but was passing through three times during the final section before finishing.  It was the final stage of the five day race and the favourite was local hero, Edvald Bosan Hagen.  During an interval between the riders passing through we did manage a stroll down the main street but cheering for Edvald was our main thought.  Unfortunately he couldn't quite pull it off today, but he was in the mix and it was all very exciting as the cycling action away from town was displayed on a giant screen.

The pedestrianised main street is, apparently, normally quite a buzzy place, however, the action was elsewhere today.

Here are some more Lake Mjosa photos taken from the lake side a few metres from our pitch.
