More Netherlands trundling and a ladies outing to Giethoorn
2nd May 2018
Similar riding for Tony and myself today navigating the cycle lanes of numerous towns and villages, treks on cycle lanes beside busy roads, routes passing through housing and industrial estates along with some peaceful stretches of countryside. The sun was shining and it actually started to feel warm.
Sometimes my routing app, Ride with GPS, gets a strange notion as to the best route to Nordkapp.
Meanwhile Jacqui and Helen visited the village of Giethoorn, the "Little Venice" of the Netherlands, recommended by Helen and Tony's son's Dutch girlfriend.
Tonight we are at the excellent Camping Bosbad at Zwinderen, about 10 miles south west of Emmen. Ivan seems very much at home. A rest day tomorrow for bike fettling and other jobs such as checking out the 26 degree swimming pool.
Hotels. Swimming pools?!
ReplyDeleteWe were in the hotel car park Andrew, sleeping in Ivan! Now at a very nice campsite with a well heated pool. No bivie bag and primus camping for us.
DeleteThe adventure continues but think what you are missing here - 24 hour coverage of Brexit ,dreadful weather and Chezzers relegated. When you reach the North Cape you should turn round and cycle back Happy cycling and driving. B&F
ReplyDeleteThank you B&F. We have the technology to listen to the Today programme but we choose not to!
DeleteI had a great couple of days Martin, and I am so glad we came over. Thanks for letting me be a part of your grand adventure. Good luck with the trick inner tubes.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it Tony. It made a very pleasant change for me to ride along having someone to natter to. Also great to meet Helen and Jacqui really enjoyed the sight seeing
