Day 66 - Gales, sleet and a "stay put" rest day
4th June 2018
Sleep was interrupted last night as Ivan was shaken about by a howling gale. Sleeting on waking up this morning with fresh snow on higher ground. The temperature has hovered around 5 degrees all day with heavy showers and hail. So it was a matter of cranking up the heating and making ourselves nice and cosy, we were going nowhere!

Last night there was the briefest chink in the sky allowing a few rays of sunshine to make it through to light up the hills. For 10 minutes our view was transformed.
Tomorrow I will need my loins well and truly girding, along with a couple of hot coffees with Jacqui and Ivan along the way. Should see me right, maybe.
A rest day we'll earned and sensibly taken. Hope the weather improved for you, Martin.
ReplyDeleteBetter today Andrew. A bit of a snow threat for a high pass tomorrow so will keep an eye on that. No gales though.
